The Middle is one of the only shows on TV in recent memory to deal with a lower class family. In fact, the last show that I can remember on TV that dealt with a solidly lower class family was Rosanne. Admittedly, Rosanne was decidedly more overtly political, but that made it more easily dismissible. Sadly, I think that The Middle has a pretty small share of the audience. We need more class diversity on TV.
