Quick thought before I'm off for weekend travel. (No post likely tomorrow.) It's a bit cliche, but bands are often criticized for not being able to capture the energy of their live performances on their studio albums. Could it be that it's not the band but the audience? Could it be that the experience of the music, rather than its performance, is what varies? Think about the difference in settings.
