Sadly, as a sociologist, I can now thoroughly relate to tobacco researchers of old, evolutionary biologists, and climatologists. A "justice" of the highest court in the land claimed there was scientific dissensus in the face of evidence to the contrary. It reminded me of this video that I use in my Research Methods course every semester:




For all you kids out there reading, learn this lesson well: when your worldview is threatened by evidence, simply lie and say that there is no scientific consensus.
