I had been unaware of the philosophical concept "qualia," but I think it imposes a number of questions for those of us who argue for the scientific-ness of qualitative methods. (For the record, I do still believe that qualitative research is science.) Qualia also has lot of implications for empathy, multiculturalism, violence, and sociality in general.
